About University of Findlay

The University of Findlay is a private university located in Findlay, also known as `Flag City, USA`, which is the county seat of Hancock County, situated in the US state of Ohio, a city with a population estimated at a number of nearly 40 000 inhabitants, during the 2000 census.

The University of Findlay was officially founded in 1882 and its motto is `Scintia Libertas et Religio`, which means `Knowledge, Liberty and Religion`. The university was founded by the city of Findlay and the churches of God, General Conference, and offers today its students eduational programs in over 65 areas of study, its most popular majors including areas such as education, business, pre-veterinary medicine and nuclear medicine technology.

Athletics

Findlay's athletic teams are known as the Oilers, which compete in GLIAC, in NCAA Division II, in 23 intercollegiate sports, for men and women, among which we find baseball, basketball, golf, soccer, tennis, track and field, American football and other. Their official mascot is Derrick the Oiler.
